Liberty Player

Overview

Liberty Player is an easy-to-use application for playing Liberty recording files, available for download at no cost. It allows users to select and listen to individual audio channels or a combination of multiple channels within a recording.

The Player is compatible with Windows (XP and later), macOS, iOS, and Android devices, requiring only standard audio capabilities. For added convenience, an optional foot pedal is available for hands-free playback control.

Liberty Player for Windows

Latest Version: Liberty Player V2.7 (December 2024)

Liberty Player V2.7 is the most recent version of our playback software for .dcr recording files. It supports all Liberty Recording applications, including Liberty Court Recorder and Liberty Interview Recorder.

Important Installation Notes:

  • If you have Liberty Court Player or Liberty Interview Player installed, you must uninstall them first before installing Liberty Player V2.7.

  • To retain settings, export your program settings (Tools → Export) before uninstalling, and import them (Tools → Import) after installing Liberty Player.

Liberty Player for Mac

Liberty Player for Mac OS 10.13 or later enables audio/video playback of .dcr recording files on macOS.

Installation Instructions for macOS:

Mac security settings may block installation from outside the App Store. To allow installation:

  1. Open System Preferences → Security & Privacy

  2. Under "General," click Open Anyway to proceed with installation

Liberty Player for iOS – iPad & iPhone

Play Liberty .dcr recording files on your iPhone or iPad with the Liberty Player iOS app.

How to Open Files on iOS:

  • Option 1: Download the .dcr file via a web link or email and select "Open in Liberty Player."

  • Option 2: Transfer the file using iTunes (PC) or Finder (Mac) and move it to the Liberty Player folder.

  • Option 3: Open the Liberty Player app and select the "Books" icon → File Tab to locate your files.

Liberty Player for Android

The Liberty Player for Android supports multi-channel .dcr playback on Android smartphones and tablets.
