Liberty Court Recorder Now Supports Kuando BusyLight UC Omega for Visual Recording Status

High Criteria Inc. is pleased to announce that the Liberty Court Recorder now supports the Kuando BusyLight UC Omega, providing a real-time visual indicator of courtroom recording status.

With this integration, courtroom staff, clerks, and AV administrators can instantly see whether a recording is active, paused, or controlled remotely—enhancing operational awareness and reducing the risk of missed recordings.

How the Kuando BusyLight Integration Works

The Kuando BusyLight UC Omega provides a simple, color-coded system to indicate the current status of Liberty Court Recorder:
🟥 Red – Recording is active
🟩 Green – Recording is not active, but the system is controlled remotely
⚠️ Flashing Red – Recording is paused, or an error condition exists
⚫ Off – Recording is not active

This integration ensures that court personnel can instantly verify recording status at a glance, reducing interruptions and improving courtroom workflow management.

How to Enable BusyLight Support in Liberty Recorder

To enable BusyLight UC Omega support, courts must:

1. Install Liberty Helper Service (LHS) – The BusyLight device must be connected via USB to the computer running LHS.
2. Enable "Room Profiles" – The courtroom name must be specified in the Liberty Recorder options.
3. Enable External Device Support – In Recorder options > Recording tab > External Devices, select "Use External Devices".
4. Configure the LHS with the same courtroom name – Ensures correct BusyLight behavior for each room.
5. Install the BusyLight Support Package – Download and extract the BusyLightReg_NET4.zip package (see Downloads).
6. Run the registration file – Execute reg_busylight.bat as Admin to complete the setup.
